Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade Await CBFC Nod for Eye-Opening ‘The India Story’

Just as the dust begins to settle from the removal of Satluj from ZEE5, a new cinematic offering is stirring the pot with its bold narrative. The India Story: Slow Poison in Progress, featuring the dynamic duo of Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade, eagerly awaits the green light from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) before its much-anticipated global debut.

This film delves deep into the alarming use of pesticides in agriculture and the dire consequences they pose to human health, spotlighting a crucial issue that hangs over us like a shadow. Backed by meticulous research, the movie unravels the unseen dangers lurking in the food we consume daily, nudging audiences to ponder a subject that touches countless lives.

The teaser is already causing ripples with its riveting and stimulating content. Yet, as the film awaits its CBFC certification, its official release date remains in suspense.

Director’s Perspective

Director Chettan DK shared, “These are trying times for films that courageously tackle uncomfortable truths.” Expressing his distress, he remarked, “Witnessing Satluj being taken off an OTT platform and seeing The India Story still on hold is heart-wrenching. Our aim isn’t to spark controversy but to bring critical issues to light through cinema. After years of hard work and research, we only hope the film gets its rightful chance to reach audiences. We remain optimistic that The India Story will soon get the nod, allowing viewers to watch and form their own opinions.”

Presented by Zee Studios in collaboration with MIG Production & Studios, the film is penned and produced by Sagar B. Shinde, with Chettan DK at the helm. The impressive team also includes co-producers Swati Vinayak Saindane, Anita Jadhav, Kalpesh Shah, Devyani Khorate, and Prem Joshi.

A Call for Meaningful Cinema

Poised for a worldwide theatrical release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil on July 24, 2026, this powerful narrative awaits its final stamp of approval from the CBFC.
