Samsung to Unveil Advanced Gaming Technologies at Gamescom 2026
Samsung Electronics has confirmed its participation at Gamescom 2026, the world’s largest gaming event, which will be held at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to 30. At the event, Samsung plans to present its comprehensive gaming ecosystem that integrates various gaming platforms.
Gamescom, which hosted approximately 1,500 companies in the software, hardware, and game content sectors last year, attracted 360,000 visitors. This year, the event will proceed under the theme, “Games Spark Excitement for the Future.”
Samsung’s Innovative Gaming Solutions
Operating under the slogan “#PlaySamsung,” the company aims to highlight a spectrum of products infused with cutting-edge features. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Samsung’s innovative gaming solutions across mobile, PC, and console platforms. Key products featured at Samsung’s booth will include:
- Odyssey G8: Touted as the world’s first 6K gaming monitor, the Odyssey G8 is designed for optimal gaming experiences.
- 9100 PRO SSD: This high-performance solid-state drive (SSD) is engineered for next-generation gaming.
- Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: Samsung’s flagship mobile device offering superior mobile gaming capabilities.
The Odyssey G8, which launched in May 2026, features Dual Mode enabling seamless switching between an ultra-high resolution 6K mode at 165 Hz and an ultra-fast 3K mode at 330 Hz. It ensures high-quality visual performance through compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium technologies, minimizing screen distortion and stuttering in graphically demanding games.
Interactive Experiences and Competitions
Throughout Gamescom, Samsung’s booth will feature a diverse lineup of activities, including gameplay of popular titles such as the Sonic series and a cosplay runway highlighting Samsung’s product interactions. Additionally, visitors can explore Pearl Abyss’s open-world action-adventure game, Crimson Desert, on the Odyssey G8’s 6K display with HDR10+ GAMING features.
On August 27-28, Samsung will host the World Finals of the #PlayGalaxy Cup, a global tournament that demonstrates the advanced gaming capabilities of Galaxy smartphones. The event will commence with a special three-player PUBG Mobile match involving prominent global video game influencers. Ten teams, having progressed through regional qualifiers in North America, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Southwest Asia, will vie for the championship title.
