BTS’s Suga apologizes for drunk driving incident

BTS member Suga, also known as Min Yoongi, has issued a heartfelt apology following a drunk driving incident involving his electric kickboard. The rapper, who is currently serving in the South Korean military, took to Weverse early Wednesday to address the situation.

What Happened

Suga revealed that after drinking late at night, he was riding his electric kickboard home. He violated traffic laws, and while setting up the scooter near his house, he fell. A nearby police officer administered a breathalyzer test, which led to Suga’s license being revoked and a fine being imposed. No one was harmed, and no property was damaged during the incident.

Suga’s Apology

In his note, Suga expressed deep regret and said, “It is with a very heavy and apologetic heart that I have to come to you with such disappointment. I did not realize that using an electric kickboard while drunk was prohibited. I am deeply sorry for my careless actions and understand the gravity of my mistake.”

He continued, “I apologize to everyone who was hurt by my actions, and I will be more cautious in the future to prevent such incidents.”

Statement from BigHit Music

BTS’s agency, BigHit Music, also issued an apology. They explained, “On Tuesday night, Suga was using an electric scooter while wearing a helmet. After traveling about 500 meters, he fell while parking. He was ticketed and his license was revoked after a sobriety test by nearby police officers. Fortunately, the incident did not result in any personal injuries or property damage, and Suga returned home under police escort.”

Suga’s apology and the agency’s statement highlight the seriousness with which they are addressing the incident. Fans and the public are now waiting to see how Suga will move forward from this mistake.
